ROP-taiteilijaryhmä
ROP on vuonna 2011 alkanut poikkitaiteellinen projekti. ROP:n muodostavat kuvataiteilija (AMK) Tuomo Rosenlund ja diplomi-insinööri Pekko Orava. Luomme sisä- ja ulkotiloihin sijoitettavia teoksia ja installaatioita. Suunnittelemme teoksia perinteisten taiteen esittämisympäristöjen lisäksi julkisiin tiloihin.
Teosten teemoista
Teostemme sisällöissä yhdistävänä tekijänä toimii usein nykyihmisen suhde omaan itseensä modernissa ajassa. Kehittynyt nykymaailma, jossa elämme, on osittain ihmisen luoma itsensä kaltaisekseen. Helposti kuvittelemmekin olevamme vankkoja hallitsijoita ympäristössämme, voimme jopa tuudittautua ikuisen jatkuvuuden varaan.
Mutta onko meillä siihen varaa? Lopulta luonto on kuitenkin se resurssienantaja, ja joskus armeliaasti luotoksikin asti. Pinnan alla kuohuu ja kiehuu ja porisee, kysymys kuuluu olemmeko valmiita kohtaamaan sen uljaan tulevaisuuden joka on edessämme valmistumassa? Se, jota koko ajan rakennamme, mutta joka voikin olla kokonaan toinen mitä luulemme.
Näiden kysymysten keskellä, ja keskelle, on hyvä luoda taidetta. Ja se taide mitä me luomme haluaa kaikesta haasteista huolimatta piirtää edelleen uskoa huomiseen, ja ennen kaikkea ihmisyyteen. Me haluamme pitää teoksissamme positiivisen pohjavireen, synkkien ja vaikeidenkin asioiden keskellä pitää olla mahdollisuus, toivo. Mutta me haluamme myös näyttää sen, että se ei välttämättä tule ilmaiseksi, ei näytä aina hauskalta, ja joskus on vain pakko nauraa koska itkeminen nyt ei vain auta.
Työskentelystä
ROP koostuu kahdesta oman alansa ammattilaisesta, ja yhdistämällä töissämme molempien osaamisen ja kyvyt saamme aikaan jotain enemmän kuin kumpikaan yksinään saavuttaisi. Tekninen kompetenssi ja nykyaikaisten suunnittelumenetelmien käyttö mahdollistavat toimimisen monimutkaisissa hankkeissa.
Teokset syntyvät yhteistyönä, jossa taiteellinen ideointi ja sisällöt teoksiin luodaan yhdessä.
ROP Artist Group
ROP is a cross-discipline art project started in 2011. ROP is formed by visual artist Tuomo Rosenlund (Bachelor of Arts) and Pekko Orava (Master of Science). We create works of art and installations for both indoors and outdoors, both for gallery and public spaces.
About Themes and Works
ROP's works contemplate the relationship of today's human being to itself in the modern times. The developed world of today we live in is to great extent created by man, having become an image of man. One easily thinks that we can firmly control our world, even be lulled into believing in eternal steady state.
Can we afford to do so? Yet, it is essentially the nature that allows us the resources, often gracefully on credit. It is bubbling and boiling under the surface, the question is are we ready to confront the brave new future which is being set up? The one we are building, but the one that might become something completely different we believe it will be.
In the midst, and into the center, of these questions, it is good to create art. The art ROP creates wants to believe in tomorrow and, foremost, in humanity. ROP's works of art aim to keep positive attitude, even when dealing with grim or difficult topics there is always hope. But we also want to show that sometimes it does not come free, does not always fun to look at, and sometimes one just must laugh because crying does not help.
Working Mode
ROP consists of two individuals, professionals in their own fields, and by combining skills and capabilities of us both two in our works we can achieve more than either one of us could do alone. Technical competence and use of modern design methods enable us working in complex projects.
The works of art are created as cooperation, where ideas and artistic content are created together.
